Each Sunday night, our church group begins to gather at 6 p.m. at the Newbreak Cafe in Ocean Beach. (1959 Abbott St.) We'd love to see you there! From 6 to 7 p.m., we order food and cafe drinks and enjoy chatting, laughing and getting to know each other better. At 7 p.m., as the the Cafe closes for 'official business' and the sun begins to slide toward the Pacific, we quiet ourselves for a simple but meaningful time of scripture, sharing and prayer.
While our group is made up of Christians from a variety of church families, I would like to thank Pastor Dee Kelley and the San Diego First Church of the Nazarene for their prayerful support. We are blessed to work under their larger umbrella and be accountable to their leadership.
We are so grateful to Norma and the folks at Newbreak Cafe for allowing us this time to gather in such a special place. Congratulations to Newbreak for winning the 2009 Peninsula Beacon Readers Choice Award for Best Coffee Shop!
"Ocean Beach routinely capitalizes on its rep for the laid-back lifestyle, and that's why the Newbreak Cafe is in exactly the right place. . . it's as Ocean Beach as - well - Ocean Beach." (The Peninsula Beacon, May 28, 2009)
We do hope you check out Newbreak, as well as our church group, Sunday nights beginning around 6! All are welcome!
